Tehran questions Washington’s commitment to diplomacy
Iran strongly criticized the United States for choosing military action instead of pursuing diplomatic solutions during the latest escalation in regional tensions. According to Iranian statement put on Twitter under Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi handle, recent American military operations reflected either a deliberate pressure strategy or the influence of political actors seeking to push the United States into another prolonged regional conflict. Officials in Tehran claimed such actions continue undermining diplomatic efforts aimed at reducing tensions between the two countries.
Furthermore, Iranian authorities insisted that military pressure and threats would not force Iran to change its position on key political and security issues. They argued that previous sanctions, military confrontations, and economic restrictions failed to weaken the country’s resolve despite years of international pressure.
Meanwhile, tensions between Tehran and Washington have intensified following recent clashes involving naval operations near the Strait of Hormuz and disputes surrounding regional security policies. Both sides continue exchanging accusations regarding ceasefire violations and military aggression.
