Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan is in discussions with Hong Kong filmmaker Stephen Chow for a major action film aimed at international audiences.
According to reports published by Mid-Day, Aamir Khan Productions has held talks with Chow, best known for directing Kung Fu Hustle and Shaolin Soccer, about developing an ambitious action entertainer. However, the project remains in its early stages, and neither filmmaker has officially confirmed the collaboration.
Aamir is reportedly keen to explore the action genre on a larger scale and create a film capable of competing with international productions. A potential collaboration with Chow could combine martial arts, physical comedy and spectacular action sequences.
The actor is also considering an action film associated with director Atlee, whose blockbuster Jawan, starring Shah Rukh Khan, attracted considerable attention for its large-scale action sequences.
According to the reports, Aamir has requested time until March 2027 to evaluate his options before committing to a project.
Meanwhile, the actor is reportedly focusing on Lalkaara, directed by Ashutosh Gowariker and based on the historic 1952 India-Pakistan Test cricket series. He is also associated with the development of a sequel to the popular comedy 3 Idiots, directed by Rajkumar Hirani.
Stephen Chow has earned international recognition for blending imaginative storytelling, martial arts and comedy. His distinctive filmmaking style could offer Aamir an opportunity to explore a different cinematic direction.
For now, audiences must await an official announcement confirming the proposed collaboration and Aamir Khan’s next major action project.
