Pakistani police in Dera Ismail have issued a terror alert warning of impending assaults in the city, stating that banned groups will target Shias and significant monuments.
The DI Khan DPO Najamul Hasnain issued a notice stating that Tehreek-e-Pakistan and Lashkar-e-Jhangvi may target prominent members of the police and commercial community, as well as schools, mosques, and marketplaces.
In response to threats from banned organisations, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police issued an alert, warning that the country may be attacked within two days.
In addition, the TTP has stepped up attacks on Pakistani and Afghan security forces stationed along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.
While also providing instructions to implement snap checks and boost up security in the DI Khan, the DPO has directed all associated DSPs to carefully watch individuals entering the city.
The DPO have instructed all DSPs and SHOs in the area to rigorously monitor and check all cars entering and exiting check points.
