Biden and Trump Set Dates for Presidential Debates: June 27 and Sept 10

President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump have committed to engaging in two pivotal general election debates scheduled for June 27th and September 10th.

The inaugural debate, slated for June 27th at 9 p.m. ET, will unfold within the confines of CNN’s Atlanta studios. A notable departure from tradition, this debate will not accommodate an audience, a decision aimed at ensuring the candidates maximize their debate time.

This agreement followed a public challenge from Biden to Trump for a pair of studio debates, prompting Trump’s eventual acceptance despite initial reservations about debating without a live audience.

Biden formally accepted CNN’s invitation, prompting Trump’s team to also confirm their participation in the Atlanta debate, albeit with acknowledgment of the absence of a crowd.

Subsequently, both contenders agreed to partake in a second debate hosted by ABC News on September 10th. Biden announced his acceptance, followed swiftly by Trump’s confirmation on social media, where he opted for his characteristic epithet “Crooked Joe” to refer to his opponent, along with his usual criticism of Biden’s presidency.

To recap, both candidates have committed to two significant televised debates. The first, hosted by CNN on June 27th, will be devoid of an audience, while the second, facilitated by ABC News on September 10th, will provide another platform for the candidates to present their visions for the nation’s future.
