KARACHI: In Karachi’s Defence Housing Authority (DHA) Phase 6, a 16-year-old domestic worker named Farya was discovered deceased under puzzling circumstances in a bungalow on Khayaban-e-Bukhari this Sunday.
Farya was found hanging in the bungalow, prompting suspicions of foul play by the police, who are thoroughly investigating the incident. The body has been transferred to Jinnah Hospital for necessary medico-legal procedures.
DIG South Asad Raza stated that preliminary inquiries indicate the possibility of suicide, yet the police are exploring all potential angles without dismissing other possibilities.
In a separate incident in Okara, a gang employing counterfeit identifications to entice and extort young boys has been apprehended.
Another investigation in Karachi reveals that the son of a police officer allegedly killed a friend over a dispute involving a girlfriend’s burger.
Additionally, a Karachi resident was caught red-handed while purportedly attempting to dispose of his wife’s body.
The owner of the bungalow, a doctor, asserts that Farya took her own life. He informed the police that Farya had been employed in the bungalow for approximately a year.
Authorities clarify that the circumstances surrounding the incident remain ambiguous, and a comprehensive investigation is ongoing. The exact cause of death will be ascertained following the post-mortem report and further inquiries.
Moreover, the police clarify that the doctor and his family were absent from the premises at the time of the incident as they were out with relatives.
