‘Missing’ Saudi Woman Returned Home Amid Nikah Evidence Absence

A Saudi woman, who was reportedly abducted from Islamabad, has been returned to Saudi Arabia after being found in Karachi. She had disappeared with a Pakistani man amid rumors of their marriage, but no evidence of their nikah was presented.

An unnamed Islamabad Police official disclosed that the woman was recovered in Karachi and subsequently repatriated to Saudi Arabia on Friday.

The accused, a man from Lower Dir who worked as a driver for the woman in Saudi Arabia, stands accused of her abduction. He is set to appear before a judicial magistrate for remand, stated the officer.

Initially, there were claims that the pair had undergone a court marriage, but officials informed BBC Urdu that the man couldn’t provide any proof of marriage.

During the transportation of both individuals from Karachi to Islamabad, they reportedly admitted during initial inquiries that they had indeed contracted a court marriage.

The case of the alleged abduction was filed on April 18 at Margalla police station in Islamabad, based on a complaint by a member of the Saudi Arabian embassy staff, Badr Al-Harbi.

The FIR mentioned the involvement of a Pakistani citizen in the purported abduction. Following this, Islamabad Police confirmed the woman’s recovery from Karachi and announced the apprehension of the suspect.

Special investigation teams were formed by Islamabad Police after the FIR registration to probe the matter. The Saudi woman and the suspect were eventually located in Karachi, where they were residing in a guest house.
