government is determined to ensure the completion of the Pakistan-Iran gas pipeline: Asif

Defence Minister Khawaja Asif expressed confidence in the government’s ability to enact significant changes in Pakistan within a year.

Khawaja Asif also assured that efforts are underway to finalize the Pakistan-Iran Gas Pipeline Project. He also hailed the successful visit of the Iranian President.

Highlighting regional instability and increased intervention by major powers, Asif emphasized the importance of Pakistan and Iran coming together to safeguard their interests.

Acknowledging the longstanding relations between the two countries, he mentioned the Iranian President’s desire for a substantial meeting, which faced logistical challenges due to security concerns.

Asif emphasized that terrorism poses a common threat to both countries and requires joint efforts to be curtailed. He asserted that the two brotherly nations are committed to combating terrorism together.

Regarding any discontent sparked by the visit of the Iranian president, Asif stated that the well-being of the Pakistani people takes precedence over individual sentiments.

Reflecting on past events, Asif recalled his tweet during the Afghan Taliban’s capture of Kabul, affirming his continued stance of “powers are yours and God is ours.”

Furthermore, he highlighted the challenge posed by the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), attributing their attacks on Pakistan to direct or indirect support from Afghanistan.
