Pakistani security forces have successfully thwarted an infiltration attempt by a group of terrorists trying to breach the country’s borders from Afghanistan, according to a statement issued by the military on Wednesday. The operation resulted in the neutralization of at least seven terrorists.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) announced, “On 16th April 2024, security forces detected the movement of a group of seven terrorists attempting to infiltrate the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in the Spinkai area of Ghulam Khan, North Waziristan District.”

Prompt action was taken as the infiltrators were swiftly surrounded and engaged by security forces. Following an intense exchange of gunfire, all seven terrorists were neutralized, effectively putting an end to the infiltration attempt, as confirmed by the ISPR statement.
In addition to neutralizing the terrorists, a substantial cache of weapons, ammunition, and explosives was seized from the assailants, underscoring the severity of the threat they posed.
The ISPR’s statement reiterated Pakistan’s persistent calls for the Interim Afghan government to enhance border management on their side of the border. It emphasized the critical importance of preventing terrorists from exploiting Afghan territory to carry out attacks against Pakistan.
Furthermore, the ISPR urged the interim Afghan government to fulfill its obligations in denying terrorists the opportunity to utilize Afghan soil for nefarious activities against Pakistan.
The military reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering determination and commitment to safeguarding its borders and eliminating the scourge of terrorism from the country. The security forces remain resolute in their mission to maintain peace and stability within the region, ensuring the safety and security of Pakistani citizens.
