In the early hours of Sunday, an unsettling incident unfolded outside the Mumbai residence of Bollywood actor Salman Khan in the Bandra area. Two unidentified individuals on a motorcycle fired three gunshots near Galaxy Apartments, where Khan resides. Fortunately, no casualties or injuries were reported.
In response to the incident, security measures outside Salman Khan’s residence were immediately intensified. CCTV footage captured the assailants fleeing the scene after the shooting, prompting a rapid response from law enforcement agencies. The crime branch, local police, and forensic teams swiftly arrived at the scene to commence an investigation. Forensic experts recovered bullet casings as crucial evidence in the ongoing inquiry.
The incident occurs against a backdrop of threats issued by incarcerated gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and wanted criminal Goldie Brar, who have previously declared their intentions to harm Salman Khan. According to sources, Bishnoi and Brar had dispatched shooters to Mumbai with the specific aim of targeting the actor.
In 2018, an associate of Lawrence Bishnoi, Sampat Nehra, was arrested by Haryana Police before he could execute an attack on Khan’s residence. Nehra’s interrogation revealed details of the planned assault.
Due to ongoing threats from these criminal entities, the Mumbai Police have implemented round-the-clock security measures in shifts to safeguard Khan’s residence. Additionally, Khan has been provided with weapons and trained security personnel, and he holds a personal weapon license for his protection.
The Mumbai Police had previously heightened their vigilance after Khan received a death threat via email, allegedly from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, in March of the preceding year. Goldie Brar had also openly declared Khan as their target in an interview, underscoring the seriousness of the threats against the actor.
