Bilateral Talks
On Sunday, President Asif Ali Zardari engaged in a constructive dialogue with his Turkish counterpart, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, via a phone call aimed at bolstering bilateral relations between Pakistan and Turkey.
A statement released on X, formerly Twitter, highlighted that during their conversation, both leaders emphasized the importance of enhancing ties across various sectors.
The statement further elaborated that President Zardari conveyed warm greetings to President Erdogan on the occasion of the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr, expected to be observed on April 10 (Wednesday).
Additionally, President Zardari extended a cordial invitation to President Erdogan, inviting him to visit Pakistan at his earliest convenience. He also conveyed his sincere well-wishes to the Turkish president and the people of Turkey.
In addition, President Zardari, who assumed office for the second time on March 10, was re-elected as the 14th President of Pakistan with a significant mandate.
His victory came after securing a substantial majority, garnering support from various allied parties, including the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P).
Previously, President Zardari served as the 11th President of Pakistan from 2008 to 2013. He has been an active member of the National Assembly of Pakistan since August 2018.
The phone call between President Zardari and President Erdogan signifies a renewed commitment to strengthening the longstanding friendship and cooperation between Pakistan and Turkey.
