A press release from TikTok underscored its unwavering dedication to cultivating a secure online space by unveiling the latest Community Guidelines Enforcement Report for Q4 2023. During this period, TikTok’s proactive stance led to the removal of a whopping 176.5 million videos globally, constituting roughly 1.0% of all content uploaded. Among these removals, 128.3 million videos were swiftly identified and eliminated through the utilization of advanced automated detection technologies, while 8.0 million videos underwent a thorough review process before reinstatement.
Of particular note is the platform’s rapid response time, with nearly 95.3% of guideline-violating videos removed within a mere 24-hour window following their posting.
Moreover, TikTok achieved an impressive global proactive removal rate of 99.5% for the quarter, underlining its proactive approach to content moderation and safety enforcement. As part of its concerted efforts to safeguard younger users, TikTok also purged a substantial 19.8 million accounts suspected of belonging to individuals below the age of 13.
