Amir, Imad, Usman, Mehran Among 29 Players Selected for Kakul Camp ahead of T20 World Cup

T20 World Cup

Following their reversal of retirement decisions from international cricket, Mohammad Amir and Imad Wasim are slated to participate in the physical fitness camp at Kakul.

They will be joined by Usman Khan and 26 other members of the Pakistani squad in preparation for the T20 World Cup scheduled to begin in June this year.

A comprehensive contingent of 29 players will engage in the fitness camp in Abbottabad, established in collaboration with the Pakistan Army.

This camp, running from March 26 to April 8, aims to fortify the players ahead of upcoming series and tournaments, including the home T20I series against New Zealand and the away T20I series against Ireland and England.

The camp’s strategic design emphasizes team cohesion and endeavors to bolster the players’ physical and mental resilience, ensuring their readiness to confront forthcoming challenges.

According to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), the camp aims to enhance fitness levels, agility, leadership qualities, strategic thinking, and overall on-field performance.

Experienced trainers and coaches will oversee the players’ training regimens, tailored to optimize their physical fitness and tactical acumen. This holistic approach aims to elevate the players’ capabilities across various facets of the game.

The announcement follows the unveiling of a reorganized national selection committee comprising seven members. The committee includes former cricketers Mohammad Yousuf, Wahab Riaz, Abdul Razzaq, and Asad Shafiq, along with the head coach, captain, and an analyst.

The players set to participate in the fitness camp encompass a mix of seasoned campaigners and emerging talents.

From Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan to Mohammad Amir and Haris Rauf, the squad reflects a blend of experience and potential, poised to represent Pakistan on the international stage.

As Pakistan gears up for a series of crucial encounters, including the prestigious T20 World Cup, the Kakul camp serves as a pivotal platform for honing skills, fostering unity, and instilling a winning mindset among the players.
