ISLAMABAD: On Sunday, President Asif Ali Zardari attended the Namaz-e-Janaza (funeral prayer) of Shaheed Lt. Colonel Syed Kashif Ali and Captain Muhammad Ahmed Bader, who tragically lost their lives in a terrorist attack in Mir Ali, North Waziristan.
During this poignant occasion, President Zardari paid profound tribute to the fallen heroes, reaffirming the nation’s resolute commitment to combat terrorism with unwavering determination. The President’s Secretariat Press Wing, in a press release issued on Sunday, conveyed President Zardari’s sentiments, emphasizing the unity of the Pakistani people and armed forces in confronting terrorism.

President Zardari stressed the collective resolve to hold terrorists accountable for their heinous acts, vowing to ensure that the sacrifices made by brave soldiers, who selflessly defend the nation’s borders, will not be forgotten. He acknowledged the bravery and dedication of these soldiers, acknowledging their crucial role in safeguarding the nation’s sovereignty.
Assuring that the sacrifices of these valiant soldiers would not be in vain, President Zardari expressed his unwavering commitment to ensuring that their bloodshed would serve as a catalyst for the nation’s unyielding fight against terrorism.
The tragic incident unfolded in the early hours of March 16 when a group of six terrorists launched a cowardly attack on a security forces’ post in Mir Ali, North Waziristan.
Despite the initial efforts of the troops to thwart the attack, the terrorists detonated an explosive-laden vehicle at the post, followed by multiple suicide bombings. This resulted in the collapse of a portion of the building and the heartbreaking martyrdom of five soldiers.
