Pakistan cricket team Set to train with army in Kakul

The Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman, Mohsin Naqvi, revealed on Tuesday that the national cricket team is poised to undergo a training camp in Kakul later this year, under the supervision of the military. During a meeting with players in Islamabad, Naqvi addressed various topics, emphasizing the need for improved fitness among the players.

Expressing concern over the lack of substantial sixes in the ongoing Pakistan Super League, Naqvi pointed out that foreign players seemed to dominate in this aspect. He urged the players to enhance their fitness levels and requested the cricket board to devise a comprehensive plan for achieving this.

With upcoming series against New Zealand, England, and Ireland, along with the T20 World Cup, Naqvi highlighted the team’s busy schedule. Despite this, he announced a training camp scheduled from March 25 to April 8 in Kakul, where the players will receive training with the involvement of the Pakistan Army to enhance their fitness.

Highlighting the previous collaboration between the army and the cricket team in 2016, Naqvi recalled how the players had trained with the military before their tour of England. He mentioned an instance where Misbah ul Haq performed push-ups after scoring a century during that series. Naqvi expressed optimism that the army’s involvement in the upcoming training camp would be beneficial for the players.
