The Pakistan Peoples Party’s (PPP) Coordination Committee convened on Thursday to brief former Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari regarding ongoing dialogues with various political parties.
The meeting took place at Zardari House in Islamabad, where members of the coordination committee, including Qamar Zaman Kaira, Murad Ali Shah, Sanaullah Zehri, Shuja Khan, Saeed Ghani, Nadeem Afzal Chan, and Bahadur Khan Sehar, were prominently in attendance.
It was disclosed that the PPP had decided to nominate Asif Ali Zardari for the presidency, as per sources. Additionally, discussions during the Central Executive Committee (CEC) meeting indicated that the party had struck a deal with the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N). Through this agreement, the PPP aimed to secure positions such as the senate chairman and provincial governors.
During the CEC session, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari expressed profound emotions, shedding tears as he recounted the challenges faced by PPP workers and candidates. He lamented the mistreatment endured by party members. He highlighted instances where the PPP’s electoral mandate had been infringed upon, stating, “Our workers were subjected to brutality, and the sanctity of the PPP’s mandate was violated.”
