Government Formation
ISLAMABAD: On Saturday, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan confidently asserted that President Arif Alvi would soon extend an invitation to his party to form the government, citing their majority in the National Assembly. Speaking to the media in Islamabad, Gohar Khan emphasized the PTI’s commitment to moving forward without conflict and in accordance with the constitution and the law.
Highlighting the importance of respecting the electoral process, Gohar Khan stressed that the results should align with Form 45, as these forms were obtained by the PTI from the presiding officers. He urged the timely announcement of final results before midnight, emphasizing the economic consequences of delaying the formation of a government.
Gohar Khan underlined the loyalty of independent candidates to the PTI, expressing confidence in forming a government with their support. He announced plans for intra-party elections within 15 days, acknowledging the significant mandate given to the PTI by the people.
Addressing concerns about potential obstacles, Gohar Khan called for peaceful protests in constituencies where results were stalled. He claimed that despite attempts to hinder their success, the PTI had secured victories on 170 seats and asserted control over 39 out of 35 National Assembly seats in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Looking ahead, Gohar Khan announced plans to decide on the chief minister’s post through consultations within two days. Confident in their political standing, he also proclaimed the PTI’s intention to form a government in Punjab.
The chairman concluded by dismissing cases against the PTI founder as fake and assured that the party would make strategic decisions regarding reserved seats and potential alliances in the near future.
