Asif Ali Zardari, co-chairman of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), expressed confidence on Thursday about achieving victory in the upcoming general elections. During a meeting with a delegation from the Christian community in Lahore, the former president discussed election campaign matters for NA-127.
Zardari asserted that Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari’s 10-point agenda would significantly impact the country’s fate, emphasizing the PPP’s commitment to safeguarding minority rights through effective legislation if elected.
Zardari pledged the PPP’s unwavering support for minority rights, highlighting the strong bond between the party and the Christian community in Pakistan. Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, a PPP leader, recently declared that the party would unveil a surprise in Punjab during the elections scheduled for February 8. Ashraf emphasized the possibility of forming alliances in politics and praised Zardari for making sound decisions in challenging circumstances, lauding him as a remarkable politician.
Speaking about his own election campaign, Ashraf commended the PPP’s efforts and highlighted Raja Naveed Bhatti’s endorsement of his candidacy from PP-9. He stressed the competitive nature of elections and the determination of every party and candidate to secure victory.
