The meeting, conducted in a cordial atmosphere, facilitated open dialogue between the parties with the aim of finding a harmonious resolution to the concerns raised by the Balochistan protesters.

An understanding was reached during the meeting to continue the ongoing negotiations tomorrow, underscoring a shared commitment from both sides to work towards a mutually beneficial outcome.

The background to these talks includes the recent detention of numerous Baloch protesters by Islamabad police, who used water cannons and baton charges to disperse the protest against enforced disappearances.

Condemnations from human rights organizations and analysts followed, criticizing the crackdown on the Baloch protesters.

In response to the arrests, the Baloch Yekjehti Committee (BYC) filed a petition in the Islamabad High Court (IHC). IHC Chief Justice Aamer Farooq warned Islamabad IG Akbar Nasir Khan, against hindering the protest, emphasizing the constitutional right to demonstration.

Caretaker Premier Anwaarul Haq Kakar subsequently formed a three-member committee, including Solangi, Fawad, and Jamal Shah, to hold talks with the families of the protesters.

Following the talks, an immediate order for the release of the detained individuals was issued.

The committee ministers also conducted a press conference in the federal capital, stating that force was used to prevent a “catastrophe.” Fawad Hasan Fawad emphasized that peaceful protests had been ongoing outside the press club for several days without interference.
