Chief Justice Criticizes KP Police, Labels Investigation Quality as the Worst

Investigation Quality

Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faez Isa admonished the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police, labeling their investigation quality as the worst. The remarks came during the Supreme Court’s hearing of a bail application for a man accused of murdering two people, which was subsequently rejected by the court.

Expressing dissatisfaction with the police investigation, the Supreme Court expressed anger, questioning the lack of progress despite two deaths and three injuries. CJP Isa remarked, “I heard a lot about reforms in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police. It is said that there were reforms introduced in the department.”

The Chief Justice then questioned the efficacy of these reforms, noting the failure to even record statements from those injured in the case. The court directed the trial court to expedite the case without unnecessary adjournments.

In the murder case registered in Mardan against the suspect Wakeel, a three-member bench led by CJP Isa conducted the hearing.
