Major Crackdown
On Tuesday, Caretaker Interior Minister Sarfraz Bugti announced a significant crackdown on illegal migrants, which will commence on November 2. Bugti emphasized the strict monitoring and apprehension of foreign individuals residing in the country without proper registration or documents.
He mentioned that these migrants will be relocated to temporary centers, where they will receive essential services such as medical care and accommodation. Bugti reassured the public that these centers would provide all necessary facilities for illegal foreign nationals.

Furthermore, he explained that the process of deporting illegal foreign nationals would be carried out in stages, beginning with those without valid travel documents. Bugti stated that all provincial governments would actively participate in this operation against illegal foreigners, with committees established at divisional and district levels.
The minister also clarified that the government would determine the deportation criteria for “undocumented migrants” and encouraged illegal migrants in Pakistan to voluntarily return to their home countries to avoid mass arrests and forced deportations.
Regarding the government’s approach to dealing with illegal individuals engaging in business activities, Bugti stated that strict legal actions would be taken against those doing business with illegal immigrants and renting out homes, and they would be prosecuted under the Foreign Act.
Bugti made it clear that there was no external pressure on the government to expel illegal foreign nationals during a press conference where he briefed the cabinet meeting on Monday. In conclusion, the government’s efforts to address illegal immigration will proceed with a focus on ensuring the welfare of all parties involved.
