On Wednesday, Special Court Judge Abu Alhasnaat Zulqurnain revealed that Imran Khan himself had expressed feeling secure in jail. The judge granted permission for Khan’s lawyers to meet him in jail during the hearing of petitions.
In response to Lawyer Naeem Haider Panjutha’s complaint about meeting restrictions, the judge cited administrative protocols aligned with the jail manual. Addressing Panjutha’s concerns about the case’s confidentiality, the judge clarified that it fell under the Official Secrets Act.

Dismissing complaints about security measures, the judge emphasized the necessity of ensuring security for the prominent figure. Judge Zulqurnain mentioned his own one-hour meeting with Imran Khan in Attock jail, where Khan conveyed his sense of safety.
Regarding the cell size, the judge noted his prior directive to demolish a wall but clarified limitations on altering the entire cell structure. Subsequently, the judge permitted Khan’s lawyers to meet him in jail.
The former prime minister faced formal charges under the Official Secrets Act, alleging the illegal retention and communication of a confidential cypher from Pakistan’s ambassador in Washington.

On Wednesday, Interior Minister Sarfaraz Bugti announced the governmentโs decision to expel all illegal immigrants, including Afghans, fromย Pakistan.
Bugti clarified during a briefing to the Senate standing committee for interior that the governmentโs intention was to address all individuals residing in the country unlawfully, not just Afghans.
Emphasizing the governmentโs stance, Bugti stated, โA person cannot illegally arrive and settle in any country.โ He further highlighted that foreign nationals possessing a refugee card or entering on a visa were considered guests of Pakistan.
