Flight Operations
On Sunday, the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) spokesperson expressed optimism that continuous communication with authorities would lead to the full restoration of flight operations by the evening.
The conflict over fuel supply between PIA and Pakistan State Oil (PSO) intensified on the same day. PIA is currently grappling with a fuel shortage, severely impacting its flight operations. PSO has alleged that PIA has not received the specified fuel supply as per their agreement.

According to a PIA representative, out of the 52 scheduled international flights on October 21, only 4 managed to operate. Among the 29 flights planned for Sunday and Monday, only one flight was conducted for domestic routes, including destinations like China, Kuala Lumpur, Canada, and Istanbul.
The PIA spokesperson attributed the non-payment on Sunday to operational disruptions but noted that PIA had made a payment of Rs220 million to PSO the previous day. In contrast, PSO refuted PIA’s claim of suspending fuel supply, asserting that it had indeed supplied fuel to 24 flights from Saturday night onwards.
PIA has paid Rs220 million for the flights scheduled on Sunday and Monday, with the remaining amount for fuel supply to PIA flights to be provided in accordance with their agreement.
