ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has significantly reduced the price of petrol by Rs 40 per litre.
As per a notification issued by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority, the petrol price has been reduced by Rs 40 per litre, bringing it down to Rs 283.38 per litre.
Similarly, the high-speed diesel (HSD) price has also been reduced by Rs 15 per litre, now standing at Rs 303.18. Additionally, the price of kerosene oil has seen a decrease of Rs 22.43 per litre, settling at Rs 214.85.

On October 1, there was an Rs 8 per litre reduction in the petrol price in Pakistan, following a two-month upward trend, resulting in a rate of Rs 323.38 per litre.
In more detail, the petrol rate was revised to Rs 323.38 per litre, reflecting an Rs 8 per litre decline. Meanwhile, the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) saw an Rs 11 per litre reduction, setting it at Rs 318.18, and kerosene oil prices dropped by Rs 7.53 per litre to Rs 237.28.
It’s worth noting that on September 15, despite earlier promises of relief for the public, the government significantly increased petrol and diesel prices. Petrol witnessed an enormous increase of Rs 26.2 per litre, pushing the new price to Rs 331.38 per litre. Diesel prices were raised by Rs 17.34 per litre, reaching Rs 329.18 per litre. In just one month, the interim government raised petrol prices by Rs 58 per litre and diesel prices by Rs 56 per litre.
