ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice Aamer Farooq of the Islamabad High Court stated that he would grant any concessions that were possible to former Prime Minister Imran Khan in a case related to his jail conditions.
On Thursday, the court considered a petition filed by Khan’s wife, Bushra Bibi. She requested additional facilities for him during court appearances, including access to home-cooked food. Her concern revolved around the possibility of Khan being poisoned in cell.
Lawyer Latif Khosa, representing Bushra Bibi, informed the court that Imran Khan’s jail cell lacks sufficient space for him to offer prayers.

Khosa also highlighted the historical precedent in the country, where former presidents and prime ministers have eventually gone to jail. He urged the court to permit Imran Khan to consume homemade food.
In response, CJ Farooq stated that he would grant any concessions allowable by the law. He proceeded to issue notices to the interior ministry and jail officials, postponing the hearing until the following week.
Authorities recently transferred imran Khan from Attock Jail to Adiala Jail. He was in Attock jail since authorities detained him on August 5. He is held in the cipher case filed under the Official Secrets Act.
