UAE Minister Reem’s resemblance with Maryam Nawaz puzzles social media fans

UAE Minister

During last week’s United Nations General Assembly, UAE Minister Reem Ibrahim Hashmey’s appearance perplexed Pakistani viewers, with some even mistakenly identifying her as Pakistan’s politician Maryam Nawaz Sharif.

Reem delivered a speech at the UN General Assembly, and a video clip of her address quickly gained popularity.

Now, supporters of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) are suggesting that she “imitated” Maryam Nawaz Sharif. If not, she at least adopted a similar fashion sense. In contrast, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) supporters find this claim implausible.

The video circulated widely on various social media platforms, sparking discussions and debates.

Reem’s attire and styling in the video resembled those of PML-N’s Chief Organizer, Maryam Nawaz.

She was seen wearing a blue monochromatic dress while standing at the General Assembly podium, representing her country.

PTI supporters have argued that Maryam may have drawn fashion inspiration from Reem, who was relatively unknown to Pakistanis before the video became viral.

On the other hand, PML-N supporters countered by highlighting Maryam Nawaz’s status as a global fashion “brand” and contended that people worldwide were attempting to emulate her style.
