ISLAMABAD: The Executive Committee of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) achieved consensus among stakeholders on a practical option to resolve key impediments to the country’s investment environment.
Additionally, they finalized plans to address issues in four key sectors: agriculture, IT, minerals, and energy.
The 5th meeting of the Executive Committee of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) commenced on September 26, 2023, and will continue for two days.
In addition, Minister for Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives chaired the meeting, attended by Dr. Jehanzeb Khan, National Coordinator for SIFC, SAPM (Governance Effectiveness), relevant Federal and Provincial Ministers, and senior government officials.
Moreover, the meeting aimed to review measures taken to enhance the investment ecosystem, tackle macroeconomic challenges, and stimulate economic growth.
The relevant ministries presented progress reports on various aspects, including policy-level interventions to be implemented in the short, medium, and long term to achieve desired outcomes.
Also, the government established the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) to revive Pakistan’s economy.
Overall, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif chaired a high-level meeting where they unveiled the Economic Revival Plan, attended by the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Chief Ministers, Federal and Provincial Ministers, and senior government officials.
Interior Ministry Implements Higher Traffic Violation Fines To Enhance Road Safety

The ministry officially communicated this policy change to the public, emphasizing its goal of strict enforcement of traffic laws to create safer roads. A spokesperson stated this objective.
Under the updated notification by the Ministry of Interior, the minimum fine for traffic violations is now Rs 500. This adjustment is part of a broader effort to ensure strict adherence to traffic regulations, crucial for accident prevention and road safety. The notification specifies fines for various violations.
