Extended Visit
Interim Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar has stated that Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman will extend his stay in Pakistan, as the South Asian nation seeks substantial investments from the oil-rich Gulf country.
Kakar revealed during an interview that both Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have reached an agreement for Mohammed bin Salman to have an extended visit, which is mutually convenient and acceptable.
Pakistan is preparing to host the Saudi Crown Prince, but they have not yet confirmed the exact date of his visit. The interim government has indicated that Saudi Arabia has expressed interest in Pakistan following the establishment of the Special Investment Facilitation Council, a civil-hybrid forum.
Pakistan has presented various investment opportunities to the Gulf nation. Mohammed bin Salman, often referred to as MBS, recently visited India to attend the G20 summit and held discussions with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the sidelines of the event.
During Kakar’s interview, the Saudi Crown Prince’s visit to Pakistan was a prominent topic of discussion.
Kakar stated that both sides express enthusiasm and optimism about the visit and actively engage in discussions concerning various projects, including those related to mining, minerals, agriculture, and refineries.
Kakar emphasized, “Our understanding is that he might have an extended stay here. It won’t be a brief visit.” When asked if it would last for just two days, he replied that it was too early to confirm such details.
He added, “We are working to ensure that ready-to-implement projects are prepared on our side so that when he arrives, we can hold a signing ceremony.”
