The earthquake, striking just after 11 p.m. local time with a magnitude of 6.8, has caused extensive destruction. It has particularly impacted remote mountain areas that were challenging to reach. The disaster has claimed the lives of at least 632 people and has left more than 392 others injured. Leaders of pakistan have expressed solidarity with Morocco after the devastating earthquake.
President Pakistan extends condolences and prayers
President Dr. Arif Alvi conveyed his profound sadness regarding the earthquake’s impact in Morocco. He offered heartfelt condolences to the families affected and expressed his solidarity with Morocco’s people and government.
The President’s message additionally featured prayers for the swift recovery of those injured in the disaster, underscoring the significance of international assistance in times of crisis.
PM assures Pakistan’s commitment to support Morocco
Meanwhile, Caretaker Prime Minister Anwarul Haq Kakar conveyed his sorrow and sadness regarding the whole sitaution.
In an official statement, he extended condolences to Morocco and its people, highlighting Pakistan’s unwavering support during this difficult time.
PM Kakar reaffirmed Pakistan’s dedication to offering any available aid and support to Morocco, emphasizing the lasting connection between the two nations.
Shehbaz Sharif also stands in solidarity
On the other hand, former Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed his heartfelt sentiments regarding the devastating earthquake in Morocco.
He conveyed deep sadness over the hundreds of casualties and declared Pakistan’s unwavering solidarity with Morocco.
Sharif also extended special prayers for the bereaved families and those who were injured or trapped under the rubble, emphasizing the necessity of global unity in times of adversity.
IPP president extends condolence too
In a show of solidarity and empathy, Pakistan’s Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) President Abdul Aleem Khan, issued a heartfelt statement today, extending condolences and support to the people of Morocco in the wake of a devastating earthquake that has shaken the North African nation.
“The destruction and loss of life caused by the devastating earthquake in Morocco sadden us deeply,” stated President Abdul Aleem Khan. “The nation of Pakistan stands in solidarity with the people of Morocco during this difficult hour. We pray to Allah to grant forgiveness to those affected and safeguard them from further loss of life and property. Amen.”
