Grade 17 police officer to head the cell
ISLAMABAD: The Counter-Terrorism Department of Islamabad Police has established a specialized investigation cell.
The capital police have established a specialized investigative unit within the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) to investigate cases related to terror financing.
They have appointed a Grade 17 police officer to lead this unit, with the officer directly reporting to the SSP of the Counter-Terrorism Department.
A spokesperson for the Islamabad police has mentioned that they will actively seek support from sensitive institutions to ensure that this special unit complies with international standards.
Additionally, the spokesperson has emphasized that they will actively take decisive action against individuals who finance terrorism and extremism.

Meanwhile, as reports of a deteriorating law and order situation in Gilgit-Baltistan circulated on social media, the region’s Home Department clarified that the situation remains peaceful.

Mobile internet services have suspended for over a week.
