LPG Prices
ISLAMABAD: The recent surge in petroleum prices, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has raised Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) prices for the month of September.
According to the details provided, OGRA has implemented an increase of Rs38.97 per kilogram in LPG rates. Consequently, the price of a domestic LPG cylinder has been adjusted to Rs459.85. This revision comes as an official notification of the LPG price hike for the month of September.
It’s worth noting that they set the rate for an LPG cylinder at Rs 2,373.64 for August. The sudden surge in LPG prices for September has sparked concerns among households and businesses, as it impacts their budgets significantly.
Prior to this LPG price adjustment, the caretaker government had also increased the price of petrol by Rs 14.9 per litre, as stated in a notification issued by the Finance Ministry. Consequently, the petrol rate reached Rs 305.36 per litre, marking a substantial increase.
Additionally, the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) witnessed a hike of Rs 18.44 per litre, bringing it to Rs 311.84.
This series of fuel price hikes began earlier, with petrol prices rising by Rs17.50 per litre to Rs290.45 on August 16. High-speed diesel also saw an increase, reaching Rs293.40. Prior to this, the federal government had raised the petrol price by Rs19.95 per litre on August 1.
