IHC or Judicial Complex
ISLAMABAD: Judge Humayun Dilawar has requested the Islamabad High Court to post him either in the IHC or Judicial Complex as he was facing threats.
Judge Dilawar wrote a letter to the Registrar of the IHC expressing his concerns over his transfer. He appealed for a transfer to special courts within the judicial complex or the IHC. He cited security threats and a targeted campaign against him on social media.
Judge Humayun Dilawar sentenced PTI chairman to three years in jail in the Toshakhana case. Since then, he has been facing threats from Khan’s supporters.
In his letter directed to the IHC Registrar, the judge illuminated the security threats and the campaign against him on social media. He mentioned that this campaign had incited threats from individuals worldwide, rallying support for the judge due to his verdict against a political party’s chairman.
Judge Dilawar disclosed that these repercussions extended beyond him to affect his children. He said his children are encountering unusual situations at school, highlighting the seriousness of the circumstances.
Furthermore, during a recent visit to Britain, Judge Dilawar experienced an inappropriate situation that further heightened his security concerns.
IHC makes Judge Humayun Dilawar as OSD
Meanwhile, following his verdict in the Toshakhana criminal case that led to a three-year imprisonment for PTI Chairman, the IHC appointed Humayun Dilawar as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) on August 25.
According to the notification, the Chief Justice of IHC, Aamir Farooq, has instructed Additional District and Sessions Judge Humayun Dilawar to report to Islamabad High Court (IHC).

The IHC Additional Registrar issued the notification in line with these instructions.
It’s noteworthy that the authorities arrested PTI Chairman Imran Khan on August 6, marking the second time in three months.
This occurred immediately after the Islamabad sessions court handed him a three-year imprisonment and a five-year disqualification in the Toshakhana criminal case.
Following the arrest, authorities transferred Imran Khan to Attock Jail for his detention, and underwent a medical examination.
