The region experienced ferocious winds that threatened to sweep people away, causing a rush for safety and shelter.
The province issued a red alert, covering specific areas of the Kingdom, due to the anticipated persistence of meteorological instability into the following day. On Wednesday morning, the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) of the country issued an advisory, warning the public about the ongoing hazardous weather conditions.
Social media platforms served as channels for sharing videos that depicted the harrowing scenes in Makkah. These videos showcased the determined efforts of pilgrims and locals as they struggled against the forceful winds that relentlessly pounded the holy city.
In the meantime, the personnel stationed at the revered Grand Mosque faced a formidable challenge. Dealing with the powerful gales, they fought to maintain their footing and prevent the powerful winds from perilously sweeping away massive garbage cans.
