ISLAMABAD: The federal cabinet decided today to organize a national-level Interfaith Harmony Conference scheduled for the upcoming week.
Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar led the meeting and made the decision.
In the same meeting, the cabinet also resolved to extend invitations to scholars of international stature from various religions and schools of thought.
During the meeting, the prime minister informed the cabinet about his visit to Jaranwala and emphasized the prioritization of protecting minority rights.
He strongly stated that we will not tolerate the propagation of religious hatred and extremism within the country, regardless of the cost.
Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar assured that those involved in the Jaranwala incident will face exemplary punishment.
The caretaker premier also highlighted that the primary mandate of the caretaker government is to support and oversee the electoral process in line with constitutional requirements.
The caretaker prime minister expressed optimism that cabinet members have received or are in the process of obtaining briefings from their respective departments.
He further encouraged cabinet members to develop their work plans and assured them that weekly cabinet agendas will align with these plans.
Acting on the Finance Ministry’s recommendation, the federal cabinet set the diyat amount for the current fiscal year. This amount is equivalent to 30,630 grams of silver and its value is approximately 6.705 million rupees.

Meanwhile, the bail was approved with surety bonds of Rs100,000.
He also refuted media reports regarding his arrest by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).
