ISLAMABAD: The process of new delimitation according to the 2023 census results has been initiated by the Election Commission Sindh.
Following the announcement of a new delimitation by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), the Election Commission Sindh has commenced the process throughout the province.
The Provincial Election Commission has instructed the district election commissioners to acquire materials, statistical blocks, and maps from their respective districts’ deputy commissioners and administrations.
Previously, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) declared that holding general elections within 90 days is not feasible.
According to details, the Election Commission of Pakistan has resolved to conduct the upcoming general election based on the 2023 census.
The ECP stated that the commission is obligated to carry out the delimitation process. The initial publication is scheduled for October 9, with the final publication set for December 14.
In its meeting, the ECP decided to seek assistance from the provincial governments and the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) in the delimitation process.
