ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court of Pakistan scheduled a hearing for a plea requesting the release of the classified portion, known as Volume 10, from the report created by a six-member Joint Investigation Team (JIT) established by the Supreme Court. The JIT was formed to investigate the offshore assets of the Sharif family, as exposed by the Panama Papers.
On August 22, a Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial-led two-member bench will preside over the hearing of the petition submitted by the Broadsheet Company.
The company alleges that it assisted the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in locating overseas properties belonging to the Sharif family but NAB failed to make the payment for these property search services.
Broadsheet has petitioned the highest court to grant the release of Volume 10, intending to present it as evidence in a British court.
It’s important to note that Broadsheet had initiated legal proceedings against NAB in a UK court to recover the outstanding dues.
