London based activist disrespects judicial officer
ISLAMABAD: Shayan Ali, a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) activist based in London, has been charged with sedition and terrorism for insulting a judicial officer on social media.
Ramna Police Station in Islamabad Capital Territory has filed a case against social activist Shayan Ali.
According to the First Information Report (FIR), Shayan Ali created videos of a judicial officer in London. He tried to attack the said officer.
Fortunately, security personnel intervened and prevented the attack from taking place, ensuring the safety of the judicial officer.
The FIR states, “The judicial officer was called a gangster and a money seller. Sara Mir Gilgati and Imran Khalil also participated in the claim of PTI London.”
The FIR reveals that Adil Farooq Raja also actively engaged in online activities concerning this case. This active engagement played a role in creating an atmosphere imbued with fear.
Authorities are considering these actions as a manifestation of ‘terrorism’.
