KARACHI: The Karachi police have arrested a suspect accused of harassing women in the Ittehad Town area, a locality primarily inhabited by middle-class people. The culprit identified as Faizan is a private security guard hailing from Saddam Chowk in Ittehad Town.
Law enforcement officials stated that the suspect harassed school teachers as evident in the video. His arrest was facilitated through the analysis of CCTV footage, which captured him harassing female pedestrians while riding a bike.
In addition, the police also announced the recovery of a revolver from the suspect’s possession. The police responded to the case after a video of the incident went viral on social media platforms.
This incident marks the fourth such occurrence within the past two months in Karachi. Experts are advocating for improved women’s safety and enhanced public education.
Earlier, on August 1, another incident took place where a motorcyclist assaulted a woman in Karachi’s Federal B Area. CCTV footage showed the perpetrator harassing the woman as she was walking along a street in Block 17 of FB Area, within the jurisdiction of the Samanabad police station.
