ISLAMABAD: According to the reports, a sessions court in Islamabad issued a directive to former first lady Bushra Bibi, instructing her to participate in the investigation concerning the May 9 violence.
Duty Judge Muhammad Sohail presided over the pleas of the PTI chairman and Bushra Bibi concerning cases filed against them in connection with the May 9 violence.
Judge Muhammad Sohail stated that Bushra Bibi has one final opportunity to participate in the investigation. Her lawyer, Salman Safdar, responded that the former first lady is prepared to engage in the investigation right there in the courtroom.
The judge inquired about the investigation officer (IO) assigned to the case. In the absence of the IO, the judge instructed the notification of the situation to the IG Islamabad. He directed them to get in touch with the IG and collaborate in the investigation.
Naeem Panjutha argued that Bushra had received a notice to join the investigation via WhatsApp two weeks earlier. The judge commented that a span of two weeks is sufficient for participation in the investigation.
The judge said, “Bushra Bibi should join the investigation because it does not feel good to cancel the bail.”
The sessions court later extended Bushra’s bail until September 7.
When asked, Salman Safdar stated that due to exceptional circumstances, his client, the former prime minister, was unable to appear before the court today. “It was not deliberate absent in court today.”
