ISLAMABAD: Caretaker PM Senator Anwarul Haq will be taking oath tomorrow. Premier PM Shehbaz and Raja Riaz sent the summary regarding the finalized name for caretaker PM to the President Arif Alvi, he approved Anwarul Haq to be the caretaker PM.
Former Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the Opposition Leader finalized the name of Anwarul Haq as the caretaker prime minister. They sent the summary to president Dr. Arif Alvi. He further approved Senator Anwarul Haq to be interim Prime Minister.
Shortly afterwards, the president gave his assent to the advice under Article 224 A of the Constitution.
Senator Anwarul Haq Kakar is from Balochistan. Just one day prior, the PDM leaders made a resolution to designate a caretaker from the less extensive province, implying the possibility of selecting a caretaker PM from Balochistan.
Speaking to the media after the meeting, Riaz said: “We decided that the interim prime minister would be from a smaller province”.
The progression occurred after President Dr. Arif Alvi composing a letter to PM Shehbaz, urging both him and the opposition leader to propose a “suitable individual” for the interim prime minister’s role before August 12 (Saturday).
In a letter addressed to both PM Shehbaz and Riaz, the president notified them that they have to put forward a candidate for the interim prime minister within three days of the National Assembly’s dissolution, as mandated by Article 224A.
Senator Anwarul Haq Kakar To Be Caretaker Prime Minister: Summary Sent To President
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Raja Riaz signed the summary and sent it to the President of Pakistan for approval and notification of Senator Kakar as caretaker prime minister.
Senator Anwarul Haq Kakar belongs to Balochistan. A day earlier, the PDM leaders decided to appoint a caretaker from the small province. It was a hint for the appointment of the caretaker PM from Balochistan.
The decision comes after the second round of consultations between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Raja Riaz, and a summary to this effect has been forwarded to President Arif Alvi.
