Turkish MP Joins Kashmir Delegation to Advocate Global Action

The primary objective of this event was to highlight their shared dedication to advocating for the rights, well-being, and self-determination of the Kashmiri people on the international stage.

Bekin, underlining the historical context, expressed his concerns about India’s revocation of Article 370 and 35A, which had previously granted special status to the Jammu and Kashmir region.

Drawing parallels between the methods utilized in Jammu and Kashmir and those employed by Israel in territories such as East Jerusalem, West Bank, and Gaza, Bekin urged for the immediate withdrawal of Indian military forces from the region.

Furthermore, he appealed to the international community, particularly the United Nations, to take prompt and effective measures.

Emphasizing the crucial importance of demilitarizing a region that has been under an extended military blockade imposed by India, Bekin underscored the necessity of determining the future of Jammu and Kashmir through a plebiscite, as outlined in United Nations (UN) resolutions.

He stressed the active involvement of the local population in shaping their own destiny and urged the international community to support this process.

Considering these challenges, Bekin underscored the threats faced by the freedom of Muslims in the region and urged Turkey to assume a prominent role in safeguarding the rights and aspirations of Kashmiri Muslims.

He stressed the immediate need for swift action and the establishment of parliamentary mechanisms to effectively tackle the issue.

The press conference convened a diverse delegation comprising representatives from both sides of the state of Jammu and Kashmir. This gathering showcased collaborative efforts aimed at addressing the multifaceted challenges encountered by the Kashmiri people.

The inclusive representation demonstrated the shared dedication to advocating for the rights of the people of Jammu and Kashmir and promoting global awareness.
