ISLAMABAD: Mahek Bukhari, a well-known TikTok personality of British-Pakistani descent, and her mother, Ansreen Bukhari, aged 47, were both found guilty of killing the former’s lover and his friend in a car crash. The jury took 28 hours of deliberations before reaching their verdict.
Last year, a tragic crash occurred near Leicester, resulting in the deaths of Saqib Hussain and Hashim Ijazuddin, both 21 years old. The trial at Leicester Crown Court provided insights into the events leading up to the accident.
According to the police’s investigations, Mr. Hussain had been in a relationship with Ms. Ansreen for three years. When Ansreen Bukhari attempted to end the affair, Mr. Hussain threatened to expose their relationship to her husband and share intimate videos of her. In an attempt to resolve the situation, Ms. Ansreen agreed to repay the money Mr. Hussain had spent during their relationship. As part of this arrangement, a meeting was arranged between Mr. Hussain, Ms. Ansreen, and her daughter.
The police reported that during the arranged meet-up at the Tesco car park in Hamilton, Leicester, Ansreen and Mahek Bukhari arrived, accompanied by six other defendants. The total number of defendants present was eight, and they arrived in two vehicles, an Audi TT and a Seat Leon. Subsequently, Mr. Hussain arrived at the car park in a Skoda Fabia, driven by his friend Mr. Ijazuddin.
The impact of collision was so severe that it split the Skoda into two parts and caused its engine to detach from the body. “Both victims died immediately from multiple injuries, prior to the fire taking hold,” said the police.
Inspector Mark Parish said: “This was a callous and cold-blooded attack which ultimately cost two men their lives.
Verdict: Guilty for Double Murder Car Crash
The police further said, “After setting Mr Hussain and Mr Ijazuddin up, chasing them at high speed and then ultimately ramming their car off the road, none of the defendants made any attempt to help the victims or to call for help. Instead they drove on and then even drove back past the collision site. Still no-one attempted to offer any help.”
The jury delivered its verdict, finding Rekhan Karwan and Raees Jamal guilty of murder. However, Natasha Akhtar, Ameer Jamal, and Sanaf Gulamustafa were acquitted of murder charges but were found guilty of manslaughter. As for Mohammed Patel, he was acquitted of all charges.
