Mild earthquake hits Pakistan, one day after nationwide tremors, felt in KP areas at a depth of 186 kilometers.
ISLAMABAD: Only a day after a widespread earthquake struck parts of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, another quake of moderate intensity hit some cities in KP early Today. Startled residents hastily evacuated their homes in response to the tremors.
The seismic event that occurred in Bajaur, Lower Dir, and Kurram areas has not resulted in any reported casualties or property damages so far. The earthquake registered a magnitude of 5.4 on the Richter Scale, and scientists situated its epicenter in the Hindukush Mountain range, approximately 186 kilometers beneath the surface.
This incident comes shortly after another seismic occurrence on the previous Saturday, which measured 5.8 in magnitude. The earlier tremors affected several urban centers, including Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Peshawar, as reported by the National Seismic Monitoring Centre.
Scientists traced the epicenter of the previous quake to a depth of 196 kilometers within the Hindukush range region, straddling the border between Tajikistan and Afghanistan.
Witnesses recounted scenes of residents dashing out of their homes in a state of panic following the tremors.
The earthquake affected several areas, including Bannu, DI Khan, Swat, Diamer, Chilas, Nowshera, Mansehra, Lower Dir, Dir Bala, Mianwali, and Malakand.The earthquake’s impact extended beyond Pakistan’s borders, with significant tremors also reported in India’s capital, Delhi, and its surrounding regions.
The reports confirmed that the tremors from Saturday night’s earthquake affected various northern regions of India, particularly sections of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and Punjab.

Meanwhile, Trudeau announced in an Instagram post, “Sophie and I have made the decision to separate after many meaningful and difficult conversations.”

In a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office, it was confirmed that Trudeau and Grégoire Trudeau have “signed a legal separation agreement”. They have taken all necessary legal and ethical steps in relation to their decision to separate.
