ISLAMABAD: Constant rains have been causing inundation in various parts of Balochistan, prompting authorities to declare an emergency in approximately twelve districts. The meteorological department has issued a fresh warning of thundershowers in the upper and central regions of the country for the next three days.
In the Pishin area, another death was reported, and numerous villages were submerged in floodwater. Leaving hundreds of people homeless.
The road link between Balochistan and Sindh remains disrupted as the causeway near Pinjra bridge in Bolan district was once again washed away in a flash flood on Friday.
Districts affected by the emergency declaration include Ziarat, Qila Saifullah, Harnai, Sanjavi, Qila Abdullah, Kharan, Panjgur, Pishin, and Zhob.
Officials reported that heavy downpours continue to hit the northern, central, and eastern districts of the province.
In response to the damages to life and property, Chief Minister Abdul Qudoos Bizenjo has promptly announced the release of Rs150 million for a relief operation.
Panjgur and Kharan are facing worsening situations, with torrential monsoon rains causing flooding in the main towns and villages. The western part of Kharan town has been devastating. Leaving no habitable houses, as stated by PPP leader Gen (Retd) Qadir Baloch.

All dams are now filled up to their capacity, and floodwater is flowing through the spillways.
Deputy Commissioner of Panjgur mentioned that all dams were at risk of damage if the rain continued, as the seasonal rivers were carrying substantial floodwater, affecting link roads.
Landslides have cut off Kohlu and other areas, and the situation is dire in Qila Saifullah. Where roads connecting the area with other districts have been washed away.
The Mirani Dam in Makran’s Kech area has also reached its capacity, leading to the opening of its spillways to release excess water.
Meanwhile, the water level of Hub Dam remains unchanged, as continuous rains in its catchment areas continue to feed the dam. This has hindered the restoration of the road link between Hub town and Karachi, as floodwater from the dam creates obstacles in the construction of a temporary causeway.
