The Netherlands created history and crowned a transgender female as Miss Netherlands this month.
A historic moment unfolded in the Netherlands as a transgender woman achieved a remarkable feat and won Miss Netherlands beauty pageant.
Rikkie Valerie Kollรฉ, a 22-year-old model from Breda, secured the coveted title. She created a record in the competition’s 94-year history that a transgender contestant emerged victorious.

Notably, the judges got impressed by her compelling narrative of resilience and determination, as well as her unwavering dedication to a clear mission.
With her remarkable triumph, Kollรฉ earned the opportunity to compete in the Miss Universe. The contest will take place in El Salvador in December this year.
Meanwhile, before her victory, Kollรฉ bravely shared her struggles and journey as a transgender individual. She expressed her hope to drive positive change in society through her commitment and strength.
Notably, transgender contestants are officially allowed to participate in the Miss Universe pageant since 2012. At that time it was under the ownership of former US President Donald Trump.
Currently, the pageant is owned by Thai businesswoman and reality star Anne Jakkaphong Jakrajutatip. She is herself transgender and is recognized as the third richest transgender person in the world.
In 2022, Jakrajutatip acquired the JKN Global Group, the parent company of Miss Universe, Miss USA, and Miss Teen USA beauty pageant organizations.
She pledged to maintain the legacy of providing a platform for passionate individuals from diverse backgrounds. It will evolve into the brand for the next generation.
The victory of transgender female in the Miss Netherlands beauty contest has encouraged the LGBTQ community to participate in such contests.
