Torture case
ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad police registered an FIR against a judge and his wife in the torture case against a minor domestic worker.
The victim, 14-year-old Rizwana, was discovered severely wounded at the residence of Civil Judge Asim Hafeez. Civil Judge also serves as the administrative officer of the Islamabad Judicial Academy.
Based on the application filed by the victim’s father, Manga Khan, a case has been lodged against Civil Judge Asim Hafeez and his wife. Hamak police registered the case in Islamabad.
According to the, the family of Rizwana sent her to work at the judge’s residence through a relative, Chaudhry Mukhtar.
Her monthly salary was fixed at Rs 10,000. The judge’s wife would allow her to speak to her parents over the phone.
Rizwana’s father and his family visited her two days ago, only to find her locked in a room. They also noted injury marks on her body, face, and arm.
Rizwana confided in them, stating that the judge’s wife, Saumya, subjected her to daily torture.
Consequently, Rizwana’s father took her back to Sargodha and admitted her to a hospital. As her condition worsened, the doctors transferred her to Lahore for further treatment.
In the FIR, he pleaded for justice for his daughter, who he claims had been brutally tortured.
The Islamabad police are actively working to apprehend the suspects. Police will thoroughly investigate the torture case.
Islamabad police said they will complete all legal requirements and asserted that the law applies equally to everyone.

During the conversation, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari expressed Pakistan’s concerns regarding the expiry of the Black Sea Grain Initiative (BSGI). He sought resumption of the BSGI as early as possible.
He pointed out that the resulting food inflation and food security-related challenges could adversely impact developing countries like Pakistan.
