Pervez Khattak to launch his own political party named “Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Parliamentarians”

PESHAWAR: Former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister Pervez Khattak has decided to launch his own political party called “Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Parliamentarians” after his membership in the PTI was terminated.

Sources familiar with the matter revealed that he has finalized the flag for the new party. He is expected to officially announce the party’s launch this week.

Numerous meetings have taken place in Islamabad and Peshawar with key figures regarding the formation of the party. While consultations are still ongoing, he is also reportedly in contact with the PML-N.

If Khattak does not join any other party, he will announce the formation of his own party. The new party will have a flag featuring green and white colors.

In addition, Khattak is reaching out to provincial assembly members who switched their loyalties during the Senate elections. Additionally, he is also reportedly contacting those who were not given PTI tickets in the last election.

Pervez Khattak previously held positions as the PTI’s secretary general and chief minister of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa during the PTI government. He resigned as PTI KP president shortly after the events on May 9. However, earlier this week, the party terminated his membership due to his failure to respond to a “show cause notice” issued to him.

PTI Terminates Pervez Khattak For Influencing Workers To Quit Party

Earlier, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) terminated Pervez Khattak, the former president of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP). He was terminated due to his failure to address a “show cause notice” that was issued to him.

PTI Secretary General Omar Ayub Khan sent him a letter informing him of the termination of his membership.

Omar Ayub informed Pervez Khattak, that he had been served with a “show cause notice” on June 21. The notice required Khattak to provide a satisfactory response within a specified timeframe regarding allegations of contacting party members and encouraging them to leave the party. Since Khattak failed to provide a satisfactory reply within the given time, the letter stated that his membership in the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) was terminated immediately.
