ACE Lahore Conducts Raid to Arrest Uzma Khan, sister of Imran Khan: Land Fraud Case

LAHORE: The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) of Punjab conducted a raid today to arrest Uzma Khan. she is the sister of Imran Khan in a land fraud case.

The ACE has reserved its verdict in a case involving alleged land fraud by the sister of Imran Khan, the chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf, and her husband Ahad Majeed Niazi.

Judge Naveed Ahmad Qureshi presided over the hearing of the case as Uzma Khan and her husband, Ahad Majeed Niazi, appeared before the court. The couple is accuse of fraudulent activities. Using their political influence to acquire 5,261 kanal of land in the Nawan Kot area of Chaubara tehsil in the Layyah district.

The First Information Report (FIR) points out that Uzma Khan purchased the land at a significantly lower price of Rs130 million. Whereas its actual value is estimate to be around Rs6 billion. This land acquisition is notable as it is located along the route of the Greater Thal Canal project, which aims to provide irrigation to the Layyah, Bhakkar, and Jhang areas.

The case also includes allegations against the former prime minister

, who is accused of leveraging his position to assist his sister. The bureau has claimed that he used his office to facilitate the land acquisition process. The court has reserved its verdict after considering arguments from both parties.

According to a spokesperson, it has been alleged that Uzma Khan had prior knowledge of the Greater Thal Canal project, and, using this information, she and her husband forced the landowner into selling the land to them. The landowners have reportedly filed complaints with the police, accusing Uzma and others of forcefully acquiring the land.

The spokesperson emphasize that the Anti-Corruption Establishment investigation would extend to other officers and officials. who may have been involved in the fraudulent activities. They reiterated the commitment to a zero-tolerance policy. This is against all corrupt individuals and stated that efforts to combat corruption would persist.
