The Election Commission of Pakistan has also instructed both leaders to appear before the commission on March 14 personally. According to the ECP’s order, it states that Imran Khan has been deliberately avoiding appearing before the commission and is displaying a disrespectful attitude towards the law, which is considered unacceptable behavior.

The ECP stated that the former Prime Minister, Imran Khan, did not appear personally or through his lawyers at the last hearing. Consequently, the commission had no choice but to issue an arrest warrant against him. Additionally, the ECP directed Imran Khan to submit a bond of Rs50,000 as a guarantee. Similar bailable warrants were also issued for Fawad Chaudhry. The ECP ordered the Inspector General of Islamabad Police to comply with these warrants.

Previously, the Election commission of Pakistan had initiated contempt proceedings against Imran Khan, Asad Umar, and Fawad Chaudhry. They made statements against the electoral body and the chief election commissioner. Asad Umar has already apologized to the ECP in the contempt case, clarifying that his statements did not contain any insulting remarks toward the ECP. He expressed his regret and left himself at the mercy of the ECP. If they still deemed it an insult.
