Turkiye and Egypt also boycott G20 Tourism meetings in Indian-Occupied Kashmir

Turkiye and Egypt have also announced the boycott of G20 Tourism group meetings in Indian-Occupied Kashmir.

Turkiye and Egypt have informed India that they will not be attending the G20 meetings in Srinagar, the capital city of Indian-Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

Last week, China announced the boycott of the G20 group meetings in Srinagar. India has been facing problems in hosting the G20 group meetings in Srinagar as a number of G20 countries have either refused to attend the moot.

Turkiye has always supported the stance of Pakistan on the Kashmir dispute. Turkish President Erdogan has also raised the Kashmir issue at international forums.

Meanwhile, Turkiye raised the Kashmir issue in the United Nations General Assembly and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

India has scheduled G20 Tourism Group meetings in Srinagar, the capital of Jammu and Kashmir, on May 22 to 24.

China and Pakistan have vehemently opposed the G20 meetings in the Occupied Kashmir. Both countries have urged the G20 nations to protest against this Indian decision and announce a boycott of the meeting if it is held in the disputed territory.

Pakistan and India have fought three wars since independence in 1947 over the Kashmir dispute.

India holds the chair of G20 for the year 2023. India has organized a series of meetings throughout the country.

“China is firmly opposed to holding any kind of G20 meetings in disputed territory, and will not attend such meetings,” Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Wang Wenbin told media on Friday.
