PM Shehbaz Criticizes Supreme Court’s Verdict as “Judicial Injustice” & “Double Standard of Courts”

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif criticised the recent ruling by the Pakistani Supreme Court that favoured Imran Khan, the leader of the PTI, during his address to the federal cabinet on Friday.

He expressed disappointment by calling it “judicial injustice” and a “double standard of courts.”

The Prime Minister expressed concern about the court’s seeming inaction during what he called the PML-N and its leaders’ political victimisation during the PTI government’s term.

He emphasised that despite enduring injustices, the judiciary did not grant comparable relief to PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif and other party members.

He added that Nawaz Sharif’s complaints from that period went unresolved.

In response to the violent protests that erupted on May 9 following the detention of PTI Chairman Imran Khan, the prime minister said that such events had not occurred since the fall of Dhaka in 1971.

PM Shehbaz compared this to previous incidents, such as the protests following the death of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, but pointed out that targeting military installations had not occurred during those times.

The prime minister claimed that numerous National Security Committee meetings had proven Imran Khan’s accusations that there was a plot by the US to topple his administration to be untrue.
